Arkiv-kuratering + arkitektur-manipulasjoner = ArchiPOP!!

ArchiPOP er en serie med utvalgte godbiter fra Beatservice Records sitt arkiv. Låter som har vært gitt ut som singler, eller låter fra album som fortjener nytt fokus, er håndplukket og satt inn i en ny sammenheng av label boss Vidar Hanssen. Cover-bildene som følger disse samlerne er arkitektur-bilder fra Tromsø, Beatservice Records sin hjemby. Bildene er tatt av arkitekt og fotograf Kristina Schröder, opprinnelig fra Tyskland, nå bosatt i Tromsø. Mange av hennes bilder viser kjent arkitektur i nytt og uvanlig perspektiv. En dag hun satt på bussen og lekte seg med noen iPhone-apper, så kom hun fram til bilde-manipulasjoner som umiddelbart fanget interessen til label boss Vidar Hanssen. Bildene passet samlealbum-konseptet som hånd i hanske! Her er første utgave av en serie med bilder, matchet opp mot 12 spor fra Beatservice-arkivene!

Archive curating + architectural manipulations = ArchiPOP!!

ArchiPOP is a series of curated selections from the Beatservice Records archives. Songs that may have been single releases or standout tracks on albums are put together in a new and well-selected environment by label boss Vidar Hanssen. The artwork following these compilations are architectural images from Tromsø, Norway, the hometown of Beatservice Records. The pictures are taken by German born, now Tromsø resident architect and photographer Kristina Schröder. Many of her pictures show familiar architecture in new and unusual perspectives. However, sitting on the bus and toying with some iPhone tools, she came up with some manipulations that immediately caught the attention of label boss Vidar Hanssen. The images matched the compilation series concept like hand in glove. So there you go! The first in the series of pictures matched with 12 tracks from the Beatservice archives!
