01 | Kald fisk |
A well-established component of the Beatservice bunch by now, Great North vibist Boblebad makes his return to the fold with his anticipated new album, "Rund i kantene". First single "Kald fisk" is spitting evidence of the creator's iconoclastic yet fun-loving approach to beat-making. The askew chug of "Kald Fisk" entices us on a path of synthesized jazz pyrexia and low-slung alcove wingding with its odd lot of chopped-up vox stabs and skittish drumwork. |

01 | Syrebad |
A well-established component of the Beatservice bunch by now, Great North vibist Boblebad makes his return to the fold with his anticipated new album, "Rund i Kantene". Second single "Syrebad" is spitting evidence of the creator's iconoclastic yet fun-loving approach to beat-making. High on Wink-ian bass squelch, "Syrebad" is a propulsive big-room warhead, locked and loaded for high climactic impact with its joyful mix of laser chimes, soft tapping drums and muscular subs from the depths. |

A well-established component of the Beatservice bunch by now, Great North vibist Boblebad makes his return to the fold with his anticipated new album, "Rund i Kantene". Throughout eight tracks arching over a rainbow-like assembly of cross-dimensional funk, weird faunic jazz, polyamorous house, post-balearic explorations and other genre-unbound machine talk, Boblebad eases us in his oddball multiverse, flush with neon-splattered grooves and otherworldly disco bounce to gleefully revel in. Here, kosmische-informed crescendos ("Rund i Kantene") rub shoulders with EBM-friendly sequential activity ("Tusker"), spooky boogie from outer-space ("Laminat") and peaty, left-of-centre electronics ("Bred Last"), as Boblebad keeps on pushing back the strictures and limitations of normative styles with impish delight and end-to-end club practicality. Singles "Kald Fisk" and "Syrebad" are spitting evidence of the creator's iconoclastic yet fun-loving approach to beat-making.
