Beatservice Records welcome back Third Attempt with his stunning new EP, the effervescent Norwegian artist working his compositional magic across four gorgeously compelling tracks on 'Soul Lifting'.

Torje Fagertun Spilde's productions crafted under the Third Attempt moniker have been steadily turning heads since they began appearing in 2018. Now a cherished member of the Beatservice Records family, the skilled creator has proven himself one of the most inspired artists to have emerged from Norway's rich, meta-disco lineage in recent times. Effortlessly gliding through styles and genres, his distinctive sound expertly blends nu-disco, funk, trip-hop, electronica and house, with his compositional prowess helping to set him apart from the field.

Opening cut 'Luv Star' finds him in typically inspired form. Imaginatively skirting stylistic boundaries, he demonstrates his flair for sampling as he elegantly layers atmospheric vocal chops and dexterous musical refrains. Unfolding over a sprightly broken rhythm, summery chords are embellished by carefree horns and strings as hypnotic guitar and sparkling keys augment the feel-good groove.

Next, 'Keep Your Head Up' once again demonstrates Spilde's flair for sampling, as crafty hip-hop vocals and dexterous scratches dart over soothing keys, ethereal strings and atmospheric horns. Supported by thick bass and rolling breaks, the arrangement elegantly unfolds as soulful vocals add mystique to the groove, the smokey aesthetic equally suitable for at-home meditations and backroom jamming.

Continuing the soul-heavy flex, the heartfelt refrains of 'This Love' see searing vocals and whispered words float across a life-affirming musical bed.
