Beatservice Records welcome Aleksander Kostopoulos to the family with his cosmically-charmed label debut, 'SteinGu'.
The half Greek drummer, hailing from Bodř, is well known to Norwegian music lovers thanks to the deft rhythms he's supplied for countless Norwegian bands, including Adjagas and sami singer Mari Boine. In recent years, his music recorded as part of the acclaimed three-piece ISÁK - alongside Sami singer Ella Marie Hćtta Isaksen and producer James Daniel Njie Eriksen (who has worked with a.o. Alan Walker) - has helped shine more light on his work, while his solo career has been steadily blossoming, with his fusion of cinematic electronica and visually striking live shows brilliantly enhancing his immersive drum sets.
His arrival on Beatservice Records is nothing short of a triumph, with mesmerising musicality augmented by breathtaking production across a genially breathtaking composition. 'SteinGu' captures the attention from the very first bar, with dramatic strings and astrally-charged arpeggios joined by haunting vocoder swells as Aleksander's rolling drums power the groove. Ever more harmonic textures enhance the arrangement as it ebbs, flows, and rises to a rousing climax.
Life-affirming yet bittersweet, the music bursts with emotion, marking a powerfully impressive entry to the Beatservice roster while whetting the appetite for a full EP that's slated for release later in the year.

Aleksander Kostopoulos returns to Beatservice Records with another psychedelically-rooted floor-filler, arriving with the gorgeously kaleidoscopic 'miGla'.
Hailing from Greece, the Bodř-based producer and drummer is a familiar face on the Norwegian music scene, having expertly kept the rhythm flowing for all manner of homespun bands. After growing to prominence thanks to his music recorded as part of the venerated trio, ISÁK, his solo career has begun to take flight in the form of cinematic productions and arresting live shows.
After making a barnstorming Beatservice debut earlier in the year with 'SteinGu', Kostopoulos is back with yet more wonderful accomplished work. Steadily unfolding over pulsating arpeggios, 'miGla' bursts into life with dramatic synth stabs, growling bass and crisp machine drums, the searing vocal brimming with emotion as it soars over the densely woven musical bed.
Breathless, hypnotic and powerfully engaging, this is spectacular work from this wildly talented artist, amounting to nothing less than a dancefloor guarantee.
Format: Digital EP
After two singles, Aleksander Kostopoulos returns to Beatservice Records with the gorgeously kaleidoscopic three track EP 'BaNi'.
The audiovisual artist, drummer and composer from Bodř, Norway, is celebrated for his percussion and drums as a member of the Sami-pop trio ISÁK. In his solo works, he has established a distinctive style that blends his drumming expertise with electronic music and visual art. His compositions are a fusion of atmospheric soundscapes and falsetto vocals that blend in with the danceable beats that draw on his work composing for contemporary dance performances and theatre productions.
The majestic 'SteinGu' is a soaring composition with lush strings bringing a symphonic quality to the well-sequenced synths. The live drums are heavyhearted, and the chords are bittersweet as you fly through the sky in this most rich of tracks. The fantastic 'MiGla' is more turbulent, with bold, twisted beats and breaks and dramatic synths that convey a real sense of tension as an angelic vocal soars in the midst of the turmoil. 'BaNi' then offers a soothing finale with its grandiose synths cushioning you in luxurious melodies while gentle drum breaks tumble and fall away to reveal the most beautiful of piano sequences.
This classy and hugely musical EP combines Kostopoulos's signature drumming style with fresh electronic visions to result in a truly immersive sound.
