27.11.03 Kolar Goi, Doc L Junior and percussionist Nasra Omar had a joint concert 26.11 at the top of a mountain just outside Tromsø. The concert was outdoor, it was just below zero, totally dark, clear sky with stars, and precisely at eight a clock, when the concert started, the northern lights lit the sky! It was a magic moment, see a three track excerpt here! (Only availiable for a month.) It's in Norwegian - click on the picture or on the "Se video nå" link. Then choose bandwith and press play.

27.10.03 Beatservice Records have now signed an album deal with Fenomenon. They have previously released two acclaimed EP's on the London label Nuphonic, making Fenomenon a household name in the international nujazz/downbeat scene. Their debut album is scheduled for release next autumn. A new single with be released in in march, followed by a new single in the summer. More info here.

19.6.03 Beatservice are collaborating with with the +47 label for the release of the debut album from AM and the UV. This is the long awaited solo-project from Anne Marie Almedal from Velvet Belly, produced by Nick Sillitoe from Illumination and Ken Theory. The first single - Everybodys Girlfriend - will be released in july, with a second single in the autumn. The album is scheduled early 2004.
9.6.03: the Jori Hulkkonen remix of Flunk's Blue Monday is A-listed at Radio Magnetic in Glasgow!!
5.5.03 The Beatservice boss Vidar Hanssen, aka DJ Vidar, will be a guest DJ at Radio Magnetic in Glasgow, Scotland. They will broadcast his two hour show in the show Universal Forces at 7 pm on saturday 17th of May. Which happens to be Norways national day! It will be a norwegian only electronica sett, first one hour of Beatservice material, then one hour of other norwegian electronic artists. The show will also be availiable on the net at www.radiomagnetic.com. Setlist will soon be published here at beatservice.no. If any other radio stations around the globe are interested, get in touch!
11.4.03 DJ Nils Noa are guesting the BBC Radio One show The Essential Mix Saturday 12th of April. Tomorrow that is!! The Prima Norsk 2 CD (BS061), mixed by the same DJ Nils Noa, is released on export on monday 14th. The vinyl version will however be delayed. We hope to have it ready in the beginning of may.
7.4.03 Beatservice have now opened an online store where you can buy all of our releases both on CD/vinyl and as MP3. Check it out here: www.beatservice.musiconline.no. To celebrate this, all CD's released before 2001 is now availiable for only 100 NOK (about 10 EUR) plus shipping and handling. This special offer lasts out april. Also, the Cordion album is availiable already for digital download and mailorder! Within the spring, all of the exclusive vinyl tracks will also be availiable as digital download.

17.2.03 Beatservice Records have just added a new band to our rooster. They're called Electrofant, and is two nice guys from the westcoast town of Sandnes outside Stavanger. Their first release will be the Flipstick single, which already have been played a lot as a demo at NRK Petre. More info on the Elektrofant page. At the same time, we're saying goodbye to Xploding Plastix, who are leaving Beatservice for Sony. Xploding Plastix's debut album have been the best selling album in the history of Beatservice, and we wish them the best of luck in the major league!!
6.2.03 As the first Norwegian DJ (third Scandinavian), DJ Nils Noa are going to be a guest DJ at the BBC Radio One show The Essential Mix Saturday 12th of April. DJ Nils Noa has also mixed the forthcoming Prima Norsk 2 album (BS061), the second in the series of groovy norwegian house music. Prima Norsk 2 is released on export 14th of April. Nice coincidence or what?
29.1.03 Slowpho's debut album"Hi-Fi Sounds For Young Norwegians" is lisenced to Water Music Records for the USA. The album that is released in the US in march is a remixed version, with downbeat mixes of Would You and Dial done by Christian Watkins himself, a new mix of The Sea done by Mr SGP, plus a new mix of the b-side track I Wake Myself done by ORG Lounge. I addition, the track Souvenir from the Arctic Circles 3 compilation is also added. The new version of the album is released with the new title "Hotel Sleep", and is distributed through Universal distribution to more than 8000 shops all over USA. Release date is set to 23rd of March.
23.1.03 The Radio One show One World was on trip to Norway last week. They visited Tromso, Bergen and Oslo, talking to a lot of norwegian electronica-heads, among others the Beatservice label boss himself and a bunch of Beatservice acts. The first part of the series, called Norwegian Underground, is about Tromsø, and is broadcasted tonight from midnight until two o'clock. If you can't get in BBC Radio One on your radio, or if you're in deep sleep at that time, you can listen to the show for a whole week on their web-cite, until next week's show is put there. 20.1.03 Flunk's brilliant downbeat version of the Blue Monday classic dance floor filler Blue Monday is now out both on remix 12" and CD-single throughout the world. The CD-single (BS053CDS) is re-launched in connection to the remix 12", and has the original downbeat album version, the exclusive track Eight Days A Freak, pluss the Howard Maple mess-up remix of Blue Monday. The remix 12" (BS053R) brings the track back to the dance-floor, with the house-remix of High Above (aka KYD from Kyd & Kango (Slip'n'Slide, Estereo)) and the electro remix of Syntax Erik. On the B-side, Snorre Seim of Butti 49 (Compost, Guidance) gives it a broken beat/jazzy beats treatment, while Rune Lindbaek (Paper/Repap) rounds it off with his cool balearic mix. Both where released on export 20. jan, and should be availiable through-out europe this very moment...!!! Coming up: 'For Clubheads Only' remix album and 12" (BS063CD/EP) with lots of exclusive remixes of tracks from the 'Sleepyheads' album. 6.1.03 The Biosphere album "Shenzhou" (BS057) is nominated for Spellemannsprisen (Norwegian Grammy). The other nominations in the electronica category are Kim Hiorthøy's "Melke" and Salvatore's "Tempo". Biosphere won Spellemannsprisen 2000 for the album "Cirque". More info here (in norwegian).
6.1.03 Röyksopp have finally delivered a remix of Athome Project's "A Feeling Of Care". We have been waiting since summer, but everything is forgiven, it is definately worth the wait!! It is called "tre nøtter for röyksopp" (title inspired by the classic Czech christmas movie "Three Nuts for Cinderella"), and is an almost 17 minutes three part remix. It will be released on the forthcoming 12" (BS058), due 24th of february (date to be confirmed) along with the original version, plus a Universal Funk remix of "The Spy".

22.11.02 New artist in the Beatservice family! They're called Cordion, and is a duo based in Oslo. They make cool electronica inspired by Múm, Opiate and Björk's latest albums, mixed with strings, double bass, accordion and melancholic vocals. They are currently recording and mixing the debut album, planned for release in febuary/march next year.

7.11.02 The Japanese version of the Slowpho album is out now on Rambling Records. This is a special version of the album with three bonus tracks (pluss a fourth secret bonus track). Slowpho will take a trip to Japan in the beginning of december to promote the album. Check out the live page for more info.

29.10.02 The US version of the Flunk album is out now on Guidance! Check it out here. Your Koolest Smile, Kebab Shop and Distortion is in slightly different versions, and the track Sugar Planet is swapped with a new version of the Arctic Circles 3 track Indian Rope Trick. The US version is in a cool fold-out digipack.

10.10.02 Today, it's eight years since the first Beatservice Records release "TOS.CD - Tromsø Techno 1994"!! If we include different formats etc, and also includes the four remaining releases, Beatservice Records have released more than 70 releases!
We are celebrating this with a back-catalogue mid-price campaign here in Norway. Some of the releases, at least the Arctic Circles compilations, will also be released on mid-price on export.

4.9.02 Sorry for the lack of update, things have been busy at the BS HQ! Anyways, here's some updates:
4.9.02 The license albums from Flunk and Slowpho are in the works. The Japanese Slowpho album on Rambeling Records will be a special version with three bonus tracks and a fourth "secret" track. There are also plans for a US version of the Slowpho album, with downbeat remixes of the drum'n'bass-ish tracks. The US Flunk album on Guidance, with slightly remixes of three tracks and one track swapped, is scheduled for october release. Blue Monday will be the first single, with Blue State and Juri Hulkonen remixes. There will also be a Blue Monday 12" on Beatservice in the autumn, with High Above, Syntax Erik, Snorre Seim and Rune Lindbæk remixes.
4.9.02 The first ever Insomnia Festival is over, and it was a huge sucess! We will definately be back next year, with about the same concept: four days of norwegian electronic music, with some new additions, more info later! Reports from the first festival can be found at the Insomnia pages, unfortunately only in norwegian...
30.7.02 A new version of the norwegian electronica discography is now available! It is now in a database, which makes it easier to make it more interactive. At the moment, you can sort it in different ways, but more will come! Check it out here.
30.7.02 The Quart festival was a success for the Beatservice bands, both Flunk, Athome Project and Slowpho did smashing shows, and received great feedback. The Slowpho show on saturday was even said to be the best show so far this year at the Caledonien scene!
25.6.02 Beatservice Records have signed a license deal with Guidance for the Flunk album "For Sleepyheads Only" (BS051). Guidance is based in Chicago, and is one of the leading independent lables in the US, focusing on house and downbeat/lounge. "For Sleepyheads Only" will be their main release this autumn, with release planned in october. There will be a slightly different version than the Beatservice version, with two or three tracks in new mixes, and possibly a bonus track. Articles in norwegian at Nye Takter/Origo and Nettavisen.

26.5.02 Beatservice Records have just signed a license-deal with the Japanese company Rambling Records for the Slowpho debut album Hi-Fi Sounds For Young Norwegians (BS047). Rambling Records is one of the biggest indie-lables in Japan working with electronic musicin the downbeat and nujazz areas. The Japan version will be a special edition of the album with exclusive bonus tracks and a re-designed cover. Release is planned early october, and a small Japan mini-tour is planned in november in conection to the release. The album was released in february in Norway, and has just been released in England, with good reviews in a.o. Muzik. The album have also been playlisted on radiostations in Norway, England and Germany.

19.5.02 Flunk are doing an interview and an acoustic live-sett for the radio show Blue Room at BBC's Radio One in England! The live performance will be recorded at Maida Vale, London monday 20th of may, and will be broadcasted in the Blue Room-show the next saturday, 25th of may at 04:00. Blue Room is Radio 1's after hours show, and is presented by Chris Coco and Rob Da Bank. The show brings you the best of downtempo, electronic, accoustic, dub and blissed out grooves... Flunk also drops by Notting Hill Arts Club for an acoustic mini-konsert on monday evening, at 21:00.
Flunk are releasing their debut album "For Sleepyheads Only" (BS051) in UK and the rest of the world on monday. The Slowpho debut album "Hi Fi Sounds For Young Norwegians" (BS047) is also out in the UK on monday.

25.3.02 Beatservice Records have just signed a deal with Geir Jenssen for the new Biosphere-album. The sixth Biosphere is titeled "Shenzhou" (BS057), and is scheduled for release 27th mai on Beatservice (scandinavia) and Touch (rest of the world).

28.2.01 Xploding Plastix are having a massive success in the UK with the track "Treat Me Mean I Need The Reputation". Originally released as a 7" in 2000 (BS031), included on last years success album "Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents" (BS038), but it's the appearance on the Hospital Records compilation "Plastic Surgery III" that has been the breakthrough. The track is played and playlisted on stations like Radio One, BBC Radio, XFM and Jazz FM. It is also included on a two track promotion 12" for this compilation, and it's played by DJ's like Mr Scruff (played it as last tune of his set for two weeks), Patife ("completely mad about it - plays last"), LTJ Bukem, Coldcut (Solid Steel airplay as well), Nicky Blackmarket, Peshay, Calibre, Nookie ("it's the mad jazzy/latino tune, anyway played it at The End on Friday as my last tune, the place went crazy! Nuff peeps asked me what the tune was!"), Grooverider, Fabio, Bryan Gee and JJ Frost.

9.2.02 We have an exciting winter and spring season in front of us at Beatservice Records. Three high profile album releases in the downbeat area are coming, and also a new album from Upper Rooms, and collaboration EP with Mind over MIDI and the dub-vocalist Tikiman. Please note that this is the export/international release dates, the dates may vary in Norway/Scandinavia.

International release of this Bond-ish sleazy spy-thriller-theme taken from the "Amateur Girlfriends" album, present both as a radio-edit and a remix, done by the lads themselves. 8. april BS054 Mind over MIDI vs Tikiman: Champion / Revelation 10"
Tikiman is known from his collaborations with the Chain Reaction guys. He met Helge Tømmervåg at the Fløien-festival in Bergen last summer. They teamed up, and the result is this two-track 10" with cool arctic minimalism with dub-reggae-vocal. Indeed something to look forward to!

15. april BS055 Upper Rooms: Trans Balkan Express 12"
4-track EP taster from his new album. The main track is the kraftwerk-ish Trans Balkan Ekspress, plus an exclusive extended disco mix of Disco Triste.

29. april BS051 Flunk: For Sleepyheads Only CD/LP
Debut album from Ulph Nygaard's new project. He has been working several years under the Folk & Røvere name, with triphop-ish beats with Norwegian lyrics. But Flunk is an international aimed project, with English vocals both from Ulf himself and from Björk-ish vocals from Anja. Stylewise it's downbeat, with the addition of acoustic guitar and flute.

6. may BS056 Upper Rooms: Canti Popolari CD
On the second Upper Rooms album, album he has focused more on electro and 80's synth/disco.

21. may BS052 Friendly Selection CD
Downbeat vocal tracks from various Norwegian acts, taken from various more or less rare 7", 10", 12"-ers and albums, plus some exclusive goodies. Including the Beatservice-artists Slowpho, Flunk and Athome Project, plus more to be announced soon. The compilation will be mixed by DJ Friendly from Norwegian national radio NRK Petre, the leading Norwegian ambient/downbeat DJ.

24.11.01 Mind over MIDI is collaborating with the dub/reggae vocalist Tikiman! Tikiman has previously worked with the Berlin based label Basic Channel (Rhythm & Sound, Burial Mix), so he is familiar with the minimalistic electronic styles. Helge Tømmervåg has been a long time fan of the Basic Channel/Tikiman collaboration. They both played at the Fløyen Festival in Bergen this summer, Helge with his "Project 3 dex/efx/vox" live concept, and Tikiman as a host for the dub/reggae stage. They got in touch, and Tikiman did some vocal improvisations over the track 'Always With You' (from the Mind over MIDI album ICE Acoustik). This track and 'Change' from Project 3 will be the basis of a Mind over MIDI w/Tikiman 12" planned for release winter/spring 2002.

14.11.01 Xploding Plastix are playing live this week in Germany and Austria: thursday 15th nov munich pathos theater xp + r.harmstorff, friday 16th nov. schloss sigharting oö xp, martin p, saturday 17th nov. salzburg arge nonntal/audio shadow xp, glyon, r.harmstorff. 30.10.01 Beatservice are happy to wish a new artist welcome into the Beatservice-family. Flunk is the new prosject from Ulph in the norwegian triphop/pop band Folk & Røvere. While F&R where had norwegian lyrics, Flunk is a "international" project with english lyrics. Musically it is downtempo beats, with vocals from Ulph himself and his new collaborator Anja. He contributed with the opening track on the Arctic Circles 3 compilation, and demo-tracks have been frequently played on DJ Friendly's weekend morning shows on NRK Petre (among others a downtempo coverversion of New Order's Blue Monday!!). A 12" is planned in january/february, and the debut-album is scheduled for march/april release.

30.10.01 As a little de-luxe pre-christmas-gift to the fans Beatservice are finally releasing the vinyl verson of Mind over MIDI's Project 3. The LP will be a double LP set, with the unreleased album Statement included as a second LP. This album contains tracks recorded partially before, partially parallell with the Project 3 material. Statement is a pure instrumentalt album, and the mood is darker than on Project 3. This special double-LP will be printed in a limited amount of 500 copies worldwide, and will be available by the end of november/beginnig of december.

22.10.01 The Kyd & Kango album High Above (BS046) was supposed to be released last monday here in Norway, but due to a mess-up at the pressing plant, it is delayed until 29. oct. Please note that all release dates ginven for the releases of 2001 are norwegian release dates. Mind over MIDI's project 3 was released today in Germany, and the rest of the world will follow. Arctic Circles 3 and Kyd & Kango will probably be released in january worldwide. But from the Slowpho album and on, the releasedate will be the same for Norway and the rest of the world. Hopefully there will be less confusion then!

8.10.01 The Xploding Plastix album 'Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents' (BS038) are released today in England. Both radio and press feedback has been massive so far. Read the full reviews here, here's some exerpts:

Slices of James Bond anthems and numerous filmy samples give an unusual an at times eeire urban ambience.

...this album holds many audip surprises in store for the listener, ranging from jazzy grooves to more frantic breaakbeat numbers, all of which have a serious laid back element within them. Armed with a rather large spliff you couldn't have much better company than this album.

Fourteen tracks of aurally arresting, sonically challenging breaks, beats and cinematic bombast, it sounds like Mike Paradinas, Amon Tobin and Roni Size, scoring a futuristic spaghetti western, after a long night of double cappuccinos.

23.9.01: Friday 28th september it's set for a gigant Beatservice-evening at Driv in Tromsø in association with the Studentweek. Xploding Plastix and Kolar Goi are playing live, DJ Øyvind Håkestad is doing a live Beatservice megamix, and DJ Vidar are playing a downtempo set early in the evening, and a uptempo/house-set to finish the evening.

25.8.01 Two new releases are out monday 27th: the Arctic Circles 3 compilation (BS043) and the "debut" 12" from Kolar Goi (BS044). For some strange reason, the two tracks on side A of Kolar Goi's Space Ballad 12" have switched places. The actual tracklisting on the EP is "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly Computer" as track 1 and "Space Ballad" as track 2.

23.8.01 Beatservice Records is represented among the wedding gifts to the norwegian crown prince Haakon and his soon-to-be wife Mette Marit. The norwegian gouvernment have given about 600 norwegian CD's to Haakon and Mette Marit. Along lots of jazz, classic and pop/rock, some electronic releases are also included. The Beatservice house compilation "Prima Norsk" are included along with the Telle compilation and albums from Illumination, Biosphere and Palace Of Pleasure. The Beatservice artist Mind over MIDI is also represented with his remix of Nils Petter Molvær on his "Recoloured" remix-album. See the complete list at VG.

22.8.01 The autumn schedule is now ready. Slowpho started the autumn releases last monday with their Dial 12" (BS042) along with the vinyl EP with 6 tracks from the Arctic Circles 3 compilation (BSEP043). Next monday (27th) the debut 12" from Kolar Goi, Space Ballad, is released (BS044), along with the third in the Arctic Circles compilation series (BS043). This is a bi-annual tour-de-force of the current norwegian downtempo, electronica and ambient scenes.The tracklisting speaks for itself, check it out! In september, the Xploding Plastix CD-EP Behind The Eightball (BS041) is released. This EP has 2 remixes of Behind The Eightball from the "Amateur Girfriends" along with a live-track and three new tracks (plus a special bonus...!) In october, a new Kyd & Kango 12" (BS045) is released as a taster for the Kyd & Kango compilation album High Above (BS046) with the best tracks from the vinyl output of this dynamic house duo. Early next year, the debut album from Slowpho is released. A Flunk EP in october and a Flunk album next winter/spring is also in planned, but not confirmed yet.

5.6.01 The new Mind over MIDI album Project 3 is soon ready from the pressing plant. Promo copies will start circulating next week. It will be released 25th of june in Norway, and early autumn in the rest of the world. The album offers the listener a wide range of atmospheric sounds, echoes and rhythms. And introducing a new element in Mind over MIDI's sound; vocals, with a host of guest vocalist like Norwegian jazz-singer Sidsel Endresen and Anneli Drecker from Bel Canto, pluss jazz musicians Nils Petter Molvær on trumpet and Bugge Wesseltoft on piano. 13.5.01 Upper Rooms will play live at BREAK 21, International Festival for Young Independent Artists in Lubljana, Slovenia. He will play at the opening of the main exhibition Friday 18th may.

26.03.01 Due to copyright reasons, Aedena Cycle had to change his name. Gaute Barlindhaug will now continue his musical carreer as Kolar Goi. The first taster will be a 7" in the autumn: Space Ballade, pluss a contribution on the third Arctic Circles compilation. Gaute Barlindhaug is also participating on Bel Canto's celebration tour this winter as an extra live musician/knob twister.

26.03.01 An EP 12" with Howard Maple will be released in may on the USA-sub-label Beatservice US in collaboration with Groove Distribution. It contains four tracks from the Spellemann (norwegian grammy) nomineted album Inside (C+C).

31.01.01 Kyd & Kango have just agreed to release their debut album on Beatservice!! It will be a kind of best of album, with some tracks from the string of 12"-ers they have released in 2000 and 2001 on various lables, plus some new tracks. Planned release sept 2001.

29.01.01 The next Mind over MIDI album is now in the making. The style is still his trademark ICE Acoustic style, a mix of berlin minimalism and arctic ambient. This time, over half of the tracks will feature vocals. There will be vocal contributions from Sidsel Endresen, Anneli Drecker (of Bel Canto), Oddman and Sten Bjercke (of Lorenzo). Others who are contributing is jazz players Bugge Wesseltoft and Nils Petter Molvær. The Sidsel Endresen and Bugge Wesseltoft contribution is an ambient dub of Mind over MIDI's remix of the Bugge Wesseltoft track You Might Say. The Anneli Drecker track and one of the Lorenzo contributions also originates from remixes. An 10" is planned in march, and the as yet untitled album is scheduled for april release.

22.01.01 The Xploding Plastix debut album Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents (BS038) is now finished, and boy what an album! Promos are in circulation this very moment, worldwide releasedate is set to 12th march.

30.12.00 Xploding Plastix are making the new title music for NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting) TV's movie magazine Filmmagasinet. Isak Anderssen (Upper Rooms) have also made music for NRK, he has made the signature tune for P2 (NRK radio)'s new cultural program Radiofront.

21.12.00 Xploding Plastix have remixed Laptop on their new single, released on the norwegian Trust Me Records. The single is a remix EP of the track End Credits, and in addition to Xploding Plastix, there is remixes from DJ Skanky & Dr. D and High Llamas. The single is released 8th jan in norway, 29th jan in England, and 13th february in USA.

11.12.00 Mind over MIDI remixes the the creme of norwegian jazz: Bugge Wesseltoft and Sidsel Endresen! Yepp, it's all happening on a small little slice of vinyl: Mind over MIDI Re-works 7" (BSS035) is out today here in Norway (8. jan in the rest of the world), and the a-side is a Mind over MIDI remix of Bugge Wesseltofts "You Might Say" with Sidsel Endresen on vocal. The b-side is a remix of Lorenzo's "Head Odyssey", a indie rock track filtered through Mind over MIDI's machines...

4.12.00 Alarm is a new independent norwegian music award. The first one will take place in febuary 2001, and three Beatservice releases are nominated: Motion Control's Groove Tool album (BS029) and the Prima Norsk compilation (BS034) are nominated in the house/techno category, and Xploding Plastix's Treat Me Mean... 31.10.00 Beatservice Records and Groovecentral Recordings are collaborating on releasing the debut 12" from Slowpho. Slowpho is Christian Watkins on programming/electronics and Hilde Drange on lyrics/vocals. They blend drum'n'bass, funky/downtempo beats with jazzy vocals and jazz elements, not unlike Lamb and the norwegian jazzband Wibutee. The debut 12" Lovetech EP is released early december. 4.10.00 The new single by pop-star Espen Lind, Black Sunday, contains a remix done by Upper Rooms aka Isak Anderssen, along with Magnus Rostadmo. Black Sunday (the fruitmunch version) is a fun retro 80's synthpop thing. This is only available in norway at the moment, but there will be a worldwide release of the album and the single early next year.

3.8.00 Oops, forgot: The new Folk & Røvere single Dust has been out for a few weeks now. The CD-single includes remixes by two Beatservice artists, both Sternklang and Motion Control has remixed the track Nuzz from the previous Folk & Røvere album Oslo.

22.7.00 The autumn schedule are now fairly ready: on 4th september, the debut album from Upper Rooms, Video Bambino (BS032) is released, both on CD and LP (the first ever Beatservice LP!) with exclusive tracks on each format. Early october, the norwegian house compilation Prima Norsk is released (BS034), including 12" favourites from Addvibe, Illumination, K.Y.D & Kango, Bjørn Torske, Rune Lindbæk, Doc L Jnr and more. There will be a 12" picture-disc from Motion Control, a 4 track Groove tool EP, probably in october, and a US 12" from Xploding Plastix with exclusive tracks. One or two 7"-es are also upcoming, a Mind over MIDI 7" and possibly an AtHome 7". Next year will bring the debut album from Xploding Plastix (feb), the third Mind over MIDI album Statement (feb/mar), a new Sternklang-album (to be confirmed), a Sternklang remix album (tbc), and in the autumn, the third and last (?) of the Arctic Circles series is planned.

2.7.00 We are proud to announce that Xploding Plastix now have signed with Beatservice for their debut album. It is scheduled for release in jaunary 2001, with a 12" coming up early autumn, and a 7" prior to the album. Xploding Plastix will appear on a norwegian house compilation from UCM this summer with the track 'Electric things' (the a-side for the next 7"). They will also contribute with the track 'Double Talk' on the new Vent compilation from Tar Media Production (Canada).

20.6.00 DJ Vidar will have two Prima Norsk evenings in the near future, one at Yaz'n in Tromsø friday 30.6.00, and one at Blå in Oslo 8.saturday 7.00. The Prima Norsk club concept is a night with norwegian only electronic music, mostly dance stuff (house/uptempo). The Blå evening will also include an hour of Beatservice videos + maybe some live surprises... A Prima Norsk house compilation is planned in the early autumn! More info will follow.

15.5.00 Two tracks from the "Arctic Circles" compilation (BS015) will re-surface soon: Biosphere's "When I Leave" appears in a new version on the new Biosphere album "Cirque", and Illumination's "Black Sun" appears in a slightly different mix on the b-side on their new 10" "She Got Soul".

15.4.00 In the april issue of The Wire, the "Global Village" coloumn is about Tromsø. Mostly about the Biosphere installation "Fluxgate", but also with a general spotlight on the Tromsø-scene, including the Beatservice Records crew.

17.3.00 The Aedena Cycle track "Weep For Me" are featured on the compilation "Transatlantik Lounging 2 - indigo moods and afro-latin grooves", out on Life Enhancing Audio through N.E.W.S. The compilation is compiled and mixed by Enrico Riva who forms part of the dutch 'Mood Patrol' DJ collective. Transatlantik Lounging 2 showcases 12 afro-latin cuts from the likes of Classen Collective, Sven Van Hees, Karma and Byron Wallen re-mixed by Ashley Beedle, and is out on single CD and triple vinyl.

6.3.00 Two Beatservice acts have contributed on the "Jazzland Remixed" compilaiton from the norwegian jazz-label Jazzland. Sternklang has remixed Wibutee's "Newborn Thing", while Motion Control has turned Audun Kleive's "Driveline" into a housey dance floor killer. Other contributing remixers are Les Gammas and Chilluminati (aka Illumination).

17.2.00 Beatservice have signed a manufacturing and distribution deal for vinyl 12"-releases in the US with Groove Distribution in Chicago. The first fruit of this collaboration will be a 5 track EP (BSUS001) from Sternklang, with tracks from his latest Neolounge album (BS023)

27.1.00 Beatservice are participating on the Venue Festival which takes place on various clubs around scandinavia. Sternklang are playing in Sweden and Denmark, while Upper Rooms and DJ Teebee are playing in Oslo. See live page for more info.
